Meet the Artist
Hey! I'm Syd, thanks for stopping by to check out what I create, and to get to know me!
I started creating metal art in high school while in vocational school in 2017 and officially started selling my art in the Summer of 2018. I was working a few odd jobs as a teenager does to make a couple of bucks but I always wanted to set up shop and sell my art at the local markets. I was working at a job at the time I wasn't too happy at and I decided to start doing what's been brewing up in my head for a while.... to sell my art at markets.
I put in my notice and painted some paintings (I had a lot more painting than metal art for the first 6 months of doing markets) and I had I think 3 very small metal creations at my first market. And I also had signed up for Muay Thai classes down the street from this soon to be old job so I had about $300 to my name after my last paycheck and I had to come up with $99/month to pay for Muay Thai and gas to get around. And little did I know a lot of show entry fees.
I made an Instagram just for art, signed up for an event and started on my artist journey. I had no idea what I was doing, I needed a way to display my art work so I found a bunch of old license plates my Dad had in the yard and cut and bent metal strips and double sided taped them together to make stands. I sold 3 pieces of art that day and I just kept signing up for more markets after that and 7 years later here we are!
Growing up and still living in NJ with the woods as my backyard and the Shore just 10 minutes away I get the both of both worlds! All of my art is inspired by Mother Nature. In the middle of life's chaos I like to find peace in nature, especially in the woods. I enjoy making peaceful metal sceneries that will take you out of reality for a couple minutes while looking at it.
I have also expanded since the start to custom signs, metal sculptures and weddings!
